Solar-Powered Moisture Harvester Collects and Cleans Water from the Air

A breakthrough by engineers from the University of Texas at Austin offers a new solution through solar-powered technology that absorbs moisture from the air and returns it as clean, usable water. This 'super-sponge' could be used in disaster situations, poverty-stricken areas and developing countries.   The breakthrough, described in a recent issue of the journal Advanced Materials, could be used in disaster situations, water crises or poverty-stricken areas and developing countries. The technology relies on hydrogels, gel-polymer hybrid materials designed to be "super sponges" that can retain large amounts of water. Planet Renu, Bee's Wrap & National Geographic

We are so excited to announce a new super fabulous, eco-friendly product line at Planet Renu- Bee's Wraps. What are Bee's Wraps you ask? They are the eco-friendly alternative to Saran Wrap or foil. Wrap a sandwich, cheese, produce, and cover a bowl. Use the warmth of your hands to form Bee's Wrap over the top of a bowl, half a lemon, or a piece of cheese. The wrap will hold its shape when it cools, creating a seal. We are also super excited to support a great cause. Bee's Wraps and National Geographic have partnered to create their own Bee's Wraps 3pk. We are selling the new Explorer Pack as part of their “Planet or Plastic?” campaign. This multi-year,...

In addition, bamboo is a very breathable material, thus allowing for air circulation which in turn helps reduce the presence of bacteria. It is also hypoallergenic. Also, bamboo fabric smells better and stays cleaner than cotton fabrics. One of bamboo fabrics greatest properties is its antimicrobial quality. Viscose made from bamboo is considered one of the strongest and most affordable fabrics to wear or sleep in. This fabric...
